Connections

We’re interested in posting studies and exercises for both general audiences and specific, targeted topics. We’ll only share content from our projects or attribute it to a trusted source personally known to us.

Expect a mix: themed collections, like tracking carbon dioxide’s journey from plant canopy back to soil; grower vs. science challenges, like debating whether soil testing’s purpose is overdone; and even hot topics that expose potential flaws in science, like the recent disproof of the terra-preta biochar soil theory.

Our main goal? To share information that challenges us to rethink our practices. We’re looking for your thoughts—whether it’s your own experience with a related topic or links to studies we might have missed. A free registration gets you access to post and follow discussions in a more structured way. Let’s see where this goes.

Project 1 preview: Image at right, from a 2023 exhibit by artist Rune Bosse’s in Tønder Denmark on Goetheanistic* plant studies. (In this image he has assembled all stages of leaf development of a Horse Chestnut into a single instant of the tree). What do you see?

* Goetheanistic plant studies are based on Goethe’s approach to botany, focusing on the whole plant as a unified, evolving form. Rather than isolating traits, this method observes how plant structures transform over time, revealing a dynamic pattern consistent with the life of the organism.
